In their own words….

Freshly formed in 2009, Relief have already made major steps in the music world.

From fist pumping, guitar driven anthems to slow-burning, passionate pieces, Relief have wasted no time in making their mark, and have already undertaken extensive recording in New York’s prestigious Avatar Studios and Dublin’s Beech Park Studios.

Relief had an impressive start to 2009 with winning ‘Irelands Best Unsigned Band 2009′ as voted by 98FM. Irelands Number 1 Radio Station. They then went on to be selected to perform at the SXSW’09, and also New York’s celebrated CMJ’09. This led to the band being invited as main support in the US to Gavin Rossdale (Bush).

The band had already been given the honour of supporting rock legends Bret Michaels, State Radio and Godsmack. and have since gone on to being announced as one of the ‘Top Ten bands to watch in 2010’ by College Life Nation magazine.

In Ireland, Relief have headlined many of Dublin’s best venues, (Whelans, Crawdaddy, Button factory and The Village) and also supported upcoming talents Codes, Noise Control and Aslan.

Relief have frequented the UK, playing headline sets at London’s’ iconic Hope and Anchor, where so many of the greats performed in their early days, and the Troubadour, gracing the same stage as Jimmy Hendrix.

Relief recently finished recording their debut album ‘How to Hijack a Hearse’ with Producer Ger McDonnell ( U2, Manic Street Preachers, Def Leppard ) and Philip Magee ( The Script, Aslan ). This is due for release Summer 2010.

Relief – This 3 piece rock band from Dublin shows us that U2 is not the only musical option from the Emerald Isle. Booming guitars and thunderous drums usher in the next generation of arena rock‘. — College Life Nation Magazine USA.

The band was tight, professional, easy to deal with and above all one of the most original sounding bands I have heard in a decade! A Dublin Ireland band that writes and plays songs with influences as if U2 were a brand new band in 2009. Very melodic rock songs that everyone can appreciate, and did. The crowd was totally into this Irish band and new fans were captivated by Bothams ‘very expressive delivery and the bands high quality musicianship!

I am looking forward to following Reliefs. career and feel that they are on the brink of being the next band that re-writes rock and roll history!’

Daniel Hartwell-President 3-D Entertainment Inc. USA

The music of Relief are:

Botham Valentino – Vox, Guitar Ed Scanlan – Drums Ciaran Hurd – Bass

In their own words ‘ Relief has arrived!’
