The Lost Gecko – Dreams

In their own words….

The Lost Gecko AKA Malcolm Sean Urquhart began life in 2006. Malcolm had around 13 songs he had written. He decided, after a freak accident with a knife that almost ended his guitar playing days, that he should get them recorded. He did so in March 2006 where he recorded 8 songs in two days. This was called ‘Electrify the seas’. He has since gone on to record 3 more e.p.’s Butterfly Bomb (2007), Clocks, ghosts and heartbeats (2008) and the self titled ‘The Lost Gecko’ (2009/10). All of which can be found on itunes.

The Lost Gecko has played the Spirit store several times and also the Edinburgh Festival in 2008.

His next gig is at the Sirus arts centre in Cobh where he will be joined by James Murphy (guitarist, Djembe) and also Ilse de Ziah who has played cello for the like of Russell Crowe and Josh Ritter. She is currently playing in the Opera House with the West Side Story production.

Malcolm was born in Aberdeen to an Irish Mother (Ennis) and a Scottish father (Aberdeen). He now lives in Cork and has done for two years after time teaching abroad and Busking in San Francisco. His most recent Ep is receiving great reviews on the web.
