In their own words….

Heymaker! was first established in early March 2009 with Andrew Ryan (lead guitarist) and Trev Burke (vocalist/guitarist) who were already playing together for a few months in another band. When this band broke up the two lads decided to continue on and signed themselves up for a battle of the bands, before having a bassist or a drummer. Andrew, who was in a Queens of the Stone Age tribute band with Tom O’Sullivan (bassist) and Luke Waldron (drummer), had asked the two would they sit in for the night. However, after only one week of practice the band won the first heat and was through to the final. Although finishing runners up it was clear to many that Heymaker! was here to stay with their blistering solos, blowing guitars up in smoke and high energy onstage performances, this band stood out from the rest. Although Heymaker! is a Cork based band none of the members are locals. Luke Waldron hails from the west, County Mayo; Trev is from Waterford while Tom and Andrew are from Tipperary. The group played several gigs throughout 2009 (Cyprus Avenue, Realt Dearg, Fred Zepplins etc) including the “Nitrogen Festival” August 2009 in Mayo. The band had a minor setback when Waldron (drummer) broke his arm on a night out with Ryan in early October. But with Luke on the mend the group were back in action gigging and recording their debut EP “Giddy Up” and with its official release on the 28th of April the next few months for Heymaker! are promising to be very exciting. Rock on lads!

  1. great guys.. i’d like to vote for them

  2. hey these guys are awesome

  3. I hear their guitarist is shit hot and gets in trouble with the law, singer is over friendly with the guitarist and has cool tats, bassist might pee on you and can ride longer than 99% of guys and the drummer got his hand broken by the guitarist and might be the guy who fell on the RTE news on the ice.

    Rock N’Roll
