In their own words….

We started out as two school friends who met through A-level music classes and not long after, we formed ellipsis. We then decided to dedicate a gap-year to the band after enjoying writing together and have both applied to the same university to study music to ensure the band continues.

We began our gap-year writing songs together and establishing our sound. After recording and producing some tracks by ourselves in our home studio, a fan-base began to appear.

We began gigging quite early on, and were asked to play at events such as the summer Willowstone Music Festival in Northern Ireland. This lead to further performance opportunities where we supported acts such as Joe Echo and James Vincent McMorrow at their Belfast shows. After working with promotion companies such as ‘CDC Leisure’ etc, we gained valuable experience in the gigging scene of Northern Ireland.

Live performance aside, radio and the internet have made a big impact on our fan-base. Our first radio airplay was on Belfast’s Cool FM radio station, and after a huge response, we became a regular played band on multiple DJ’s shows. It was in response to the feedback from the listeners that we uploaded our track ‘Home’ to NI Chart, which resulted in us being ‘the first ever band to hold the number one position for three consecutive weeks’. Youtube has also provided opportunites for us through our music videos and profile, including composition and soundtrack deals for small films and amatueur screen plays.

When it comes down to it, we are two nineteen year olds who love writing and performing music together. We thrive on challenging ourselves and hope that someday we will be lucky enough to pursue this as a career.
