In their own words….
“Manly vocals and powerful storytelling songs bring to mind the genius of Leonard Cohen” – The News of The World
“Lazy comparisons with Tom Waits do him nothing more than a disservice. Elder Roche’s voice and wit hint at a creative spirit all his own” – The Irish Times
“There is something very spiritual about Elder Roche’s songs” – Dan Hegarty – 2FM
“Truly talented and truly stunning” – Phantom FM
This Dublin based musical poet has shared the stage with many of Ireland’s best including: Paddy Casey, Damien Rice,
Mundy, Juliet Turner and Damien Dempsey.
Embracing the grittier side of life and paving the way with slapping grooves and roots overtones, Elder Roche’s theatrical story telling and musical persona has seen reviewers liken him to Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and David Bowie.
A prolific live artist, Elder Roche is a “troubadour” who probably performs more than any other artist on the Irish music scene today. “Have piano, will travel” seems to be the motto.
This patient and loving approach to bringing his music to every nook and cranny of the country has seen Elder Roche concerts gain a legendary – almost cult status. Few artists on the scene today have the ability to hold an audience in the palm of their hands, irrespective of the venue or location. Elder could be in west Cork today and Belfast tomorrow. The growing numbers who attend his performances go away feeling they have witnessed something very special. Apart from in his homeland Elder Roche has paid his dues and learned his trade the old fashioned way – touring the world over, playing in venues across America and Europe.
