Indica are a collective of friends with a common passion and love of roots reggae. Born, raised and educated in Stevo’s room, they enjoy nothing more than getting together for a natter and a jam which seems to have taken on a life of itself.
They have played with some of the Jamaican greats including Max Romeo, Third World, Tosh/Marley Band, The Skatalites and Junior Marvin (former Wailer). Indica pride themselves on striving for original material, and are currently writing and recording an album. In the meantime the self titled ep was realised in Apollo Studios, Templebar, which was then mixed in Germany. The tracks are very much a collaborative effort with all members of the band contributing ideas.
Indica are an exciting live draw and having recently supported the Skatalites at the Button Factory, and were short listed to play the Body and Soul stage, at the forthcoming Electric Picnic, which will hopefully be confirmed as such. In the meantime, catch them at various venues throughout Dublin in the next few months.
