Based out of Redspace (at The Joy Gallery), The Crayon Set were born in Dublin in March 2008. As the name suggests, the idea was to bring together musicians of different backgrounds (indie, classical, jazz, rock) and to see what these different colours could produce. So far it’s gone down a treat, with Dublin audiences enjoying their indie powerpop with some nice orchestral and jazz flourishes adding some extra colour to proceedings. The band contains a few songwriters and everyone plays a few instruments and sings. Their debut single “I Wanted You” is due for release in July.
