Marita leads a double life: that of a dedicated music teacher by day and a passionate singer/songwriter by night. Raised by music-obsessed parents, Marita begain taking formal piano lessons at the age of 11, and began voice training in her teens. She completed a degree in music in University College Dublin, which exposed her to many different styles of music and composers she’d never encountered before.

This eclectic range of musical influences has helped to shape her music into a unique sound. With her beguiling chord progressions and lyrical melodies, Marita Connolly is a voice to be reckoned with. Having already played numerous gigs in Dublin venues, Marita is planning to broaden her horizons in 2009 by performing in many more venues around Ireland. Marita is currently recording her debut album in Exchequer Studios, and has gathered together an incredible group of musicians to collaborate with. She can’t wait to unleash her music on the world.
