In their own words….
Formed in August 2009, Milk derive their name from one of their greatest influences- British blues-rock supergroup Cream. Embellishing their sound with catchy pop hooks in the vein of contemporary pop singer-songwriters like John Mayer and Gavin De Graw, whilst drawing inspiration from blues guitar gods like BB King and Peter Green, this Dublin four-piece have created their own unique blend of bluesy pop rock. The band is merely in its infancy however they have rapidly begun to develop a reputation as must-see live performers having collectively played at some of Ireland’s most popular music venues; Whelans, The Village, The Porterhouse, Le Cirk, Think Tank, Eamon Dorans and Cypress Avenue. In a short space of time, Milk have managed to garner an impressive array of original songs. This coupled with their relentless gigging schedule meant it came as no surprise when it was announced that they were in the running for Most Promising New Artist at the Irish Music Meteor Awards 2010. Preparation for recording their debut EP at Temple Lane is now underway.
